The introduction of the object-oriented approach in the 1970s marked a
radical change in the methodology and approach of
large-scale application development. "The old paradigm, Algorithmic
Decomposition, offered a top-down methodical approach. Large and small-scale
applications relied heavily on testing and debugging to meet the required
specifications" (2). Object Oriented Design (OOD) fundamentally
changed the way software designers and specification writers approached the
problem of efficiently designing applications
